Jade Gross
Jade Gross is an absolute powerhouse young woman who was born in Hong Kong. She began her career as a human rights lawyer, completing a degree from the London School Of Economics. When she realized she “wasn’t going to save the world”, Jade shifted her focus and enrolled in a French cooking school armed with a fresh grant from the James Beard Foundation. She then spent time working at Michelin star restaurants beginning as an intern at Alain Ducass au Plaza Athénée. From there she worked in other top Michelin star restaurants from D.O.M in Sau Paulo, to Celler de Can Roca in Spain before landing at Mugaritz in San Sebastian where she climbed the ranks to head chef. For most, this would be the pinacle of achievement, however not for Jade. She felt herself wanting more, and had a sense that she had accomplished all she could in the world of cuisine. It was time for a new adventure... For her next act, Jade decided that she wanted to make wine, something that would allow her to learn and grow in newfound ways that the kitchen could no longer offer. Jade moved to the small Spanish town of San Vincente de la Sonsierra and found mentors in Abel Mendoza and his wife Maite Fernandez. Under their guidance, Jade began making wine in 2019 and hasn’t looked back.
