Vignoble de Pauline Saint Romain Au Bas de Poillange 2022

Latest addition to our portfolio and an extension to the range of wines we carry from Domaine Truchetet and Morgan Truchetet. Pauline has taken ownership of her family vineyards in Saint Romain and Auxey-Duresses and 2022 is her inaugural vintage.

Saint Romain is situated near Meursault but higher on the Cote. You could say the wines are ‘mini-Meursaults’: Pale straw color, a nose of lemon, spices and minerals, and subtly integrated oak. On the palate stone fruits, rich (but not heavy), round with mouthwatering salinity on the finish.

The lieu-dit Bas de Poillange is situated at the foot of the Montagne de Marsain between two small rivers Les Cloux and Verger. Consequently, this place was swampy at some times of the year (the name of the vineyard is derived from the old-French word ‘Pol’ which means swamp or pond). There is a subsoil of marl and limestone, with white marl predominating.
