Maison Murri is easily the most exciting new entry into the Ontario landscape and we were equal parts humbled and honoured when asked to represent them. Their founder, Steven Karataglidis is a chef turned winemaker who has always wanted to build upon the foundation of the great Ontario wines he’s been championing his entire career.

A few years ago, he was able to sign an exclusive agreement for some fruit from the Al Borgo vineyard of a new hybrid grape they had been working on, which to our knowledge is the only place in North America that it’s available.

With that fruit, Steven has crafted a truly one of a kind white wine, the 2024 Joie De Vivre featuring the grape Sauvignon Rytos (a special blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Bianca) which is unlike any other wine we have ever had from Ontario.

The wine is layered, textural, and features soaring aromatics all weaved together with a crisp, dry and balanced finish. It’s one of the more intellectual and dynamic white wines we’ve come across and while already delivering pleasure, it will absolutely continue to evolve and take on further complexity with some time in the bottle.
